Venustas Heated Down Vest Review: Best option for Winter

Vests and I are the best of friends. Ever since my mom gifted me a vest 12 years ago, that is my #1 go to for all reasons when it’s chilly.

While living in Guatemala I didn’t need more than simply my vest, but once I moved to Barcelona where we do have winters and the weather can get much colder, and me being reluctant to put on a full jacket, I have found something that is absolutely incredible.

An electrically heated vest. I found the heated vest by Venustas.

Say what …

Yes! At first I thought it would be weird. Heavy. Uncomfortable.

However, the exact opposite is true.

Here’s a bit more info about it. The vest has built-in heating elements that generate heat across your upper. In other words, it’s a piece of clothing that provides extra warmth and comfort without adding bulk or weight. All this, while being powered by a rechargeable battery that you can control with a button or a remote.

A heated vest will come in handy for several occasions, but is a MUST for winter travels; make sure you get one with a removable battery and filled with down

Women’s Heated Down Vest by Venustas

There are several things I noticed as soon as I put my hands on it. This vest has many features that make it stand out from the rest.

Firstly, it has a detachable hood that you can use for extra wind protection or remove for a different look. The hood is also adjustable and has a drawstring to fit your head size.

Now, the hood of this vest doesn’t have heating elements, which come in handy for people who don’t enjoy the heat on their necks. There are other, several options that have a heating on the neck.

Secondly, it has a 7.4V battery pack, lasting up to 10 hours on a single charge. The battery pack also has a USB port that you can use to charge your phone or other devices.

This is such a bonus.

The battery has a dedicated pocket, making the setup a lot easier.

Thirdly, it has four heating zones that cover your collar, left and right pockets, and mid-back. The panels are huge, almost completely covering a wide area of the back. The front panels are near the hand pockets; you can warm your hands there!

You can adjust the heating settings to high, medium, and low levels.

The vest also has a water-resistant and windproof shell, and the materials feel pleasing to the touch while wearing it. Something remarkable is that the vest is not heavy or bulky.

The vest is a close-fit design that makes it look fashionable and even sexy.

Features

I like many factors you need to consider when buying a heated female vest.

Here are some of the most important ones:

Size and fit:

The vest fits well and does not restrict my movement, which is a huge pro. The heating elements are placed in the right areas and are big enough to warm my whole back. You can check the size chart and the customer reviews to find the best size.

Likewise, you can also measure your bust, waist, hip, shoulder, and length and compare them with the dimensions of the vest.

Style and color:

You want to choose a vest that matches your style and preference. Unfortunately, the only color available is black, and while it is a great color to use with most outfits, depending on your mood and occasion, we would need other colors.

A good pro is the hood, you can also choose to wear the vest with a hood or not, depending on your needs and weather conditions.

🛫Find Cheap Flights

Whenever I need to fly, I head to this website for low-cost flights.

Material and insulation:

I always try to ensure the materials are top-notch and fulfill several aspects: durable, breathable, and comfortable. And fortunately, from the zipper to the puffiness and exterior, this vest is excellent. It’s well-made, and the materials are high-end.

Another thing you want to ensure is top-notch is the insulation, how well the vest can keep you warm and cozy, and this heated vest is packed with 90% white duck down. It’s soft and fluffy and does an excellent job of keeping the heat in the long run.

Heating zones and settings:

The whole point of heating clothing is the heating areas, the elements used, and the settings.

You always want to choose a vest with enough heating zones to cover your core body areas; in this case, the vest gets the job done. The most common heating zones are the chest, the back, and the pockets. And while you don’t have a chest heating zone in this vest, the pocket zones do a great job warming the whole front area.

Not only that, the vest also has adjustable heating settings that you can control with a button. You can switch between the settings (high, medium, and low) with just a click depending on your preference and the ambient temperature.

It’s an excellent way to manage the battery life in case you’re on a long hike without the possibility of recharging the battery.

Battery life and safety:

The vest has a long-lasting battery that can keep you warm for hours, it’s a 7.4V battery pack (5000mAh) that can last 3 hours on high, 5 hours on medium, and almost 10 hours on low heating. It also has a battery indicator showing the remaining power and the heating level.

Charging the battery and taking it off and on is super simple since the vest has a dedicated pocket. The battery also has a USB port that you can use to charge your phone or other devices.

Durability and washability:

The vest feels and looks durable and can withstand wear and tear. Also, it’s really easy to wash and maintain; all you need is to remove the battery before doing it. The heating elements are made of graphene, which heats fast and is waterproof and machine washable.
