3 Winter RV Retreats in Utah
Northern Utah
From Ogden to Brigham City to Logan, Northern Utah may not be as talked about, but it offers plenty of winter fun. If you’re into skiing and snowboarding, head to the slopes in Snowbasin, Powder Mountain, or Nordic Valley, all in the Ogden area. You can also test your skills a different way by ice skating at Eccles Ice Center in Logan. Or if you’re in town at the end of December, make time to drive to Brigham City to attend the Winter Steam Festival.
As far as where to park your mobile vacation home, you’ve got a handful of choices. In Ogden, you can park at Century Mobile Home & RV Park, which only has full-hookup sites complete with amp electric, water and sewer services and can accommodate up to 40-foot RVs. It’s also only about a 30-40 minute drive to each ski resort. Brigham City is home to Golden Spike RV Park, a park that has 38 pull-through sites, laundry services, Wi-Fi and is easily accessed from I-15. In Utah State territory, stay at Traveland RV Park, an RV park providing full RV hookups, pull-through sites, Wi-Fi, laundry, and more.
Salt Lake Valley
The heart of Utah thrives during wintertime, offering beautiful scenery and plenty of family-friendly winter activities. In just 30-45 minutes, you’ll find yourself at 6 of the state’s top ski resorts: Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, Alta, Park City, and Deer Valley. For RV travelers with small kids, take them sledding down the hills at Sugar House Park or check out all the sites, attractions, food, and fun facts that historic Temple Square has to offer. Mountain Valley comes highly rated and has 95 full-hookup sites, a guided valet to take you to your site, RV supplies, free Wi-Fi and cable, and more. At the resort, there are fun games to play and a dog park, and even more recreational things to do in Heber Valley.

Southern Utah
Like several Utahans and out-of-towners, many fly (or in your case driving your RV) south during Utah’s winters. From visiting Utah’s Mighty 5—Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Parks—to golfing in St. George and visiting the only place in the U.S. where four states meet, Southern Utah will keep you entertained for weeks.
Once you’ve devised your game plan of what to do, it’s time to decide where you’ll stay. Each national park has on-site, RV-friendly sites, but many are unserviced sites.
