Morocco is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Located on the northern coast of Africa, it’s a place where you can get lost in different worlds. You’ll be amazed by everything Morocco has to offer, from the mountains to the desert: Here are some suggestions for sights and activities that will make your extra vacation special:
Marrakech
Marrakech is a city with a rich cultural history. It’s known for its markets, palaces, mosques, and art galleries. The city also has some great food options–especially if you’re into couscous!
Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen is a beautiful city in northern Morocco. It’s known for its colorful buildings and winding streets, making it a popular tourist destination. The city also has plenty of things to do and see, including hiking trails through the surrounding mountains.
Chefchaouen is located at an elevation of 2,000 meters (6,562 feet), which means that it gets cold during winter, but only occasionally! The weather tends to be milder than in other parts of Morocco due to the surrounding mountains blocking out much of what would otherwise be harsh winds from blowing in from the desert below. This makes Chefchaouen an ideal place for travelers who want to escape crowds but still want warmth in their trip (or only have a little time).
Although there aren’t any fancy hotels or restaurants here yet (and likely never will be), there are plenty of shops where you can buy souvenirs or pick up some groceries before heading back home after your vacation; plus, there are several cafes where locals come together over tea while discussing politics and local news amongst themselves while tourists sit nearby trying not to look too awkward while eavesdropping on their conversations.
Ait Benhaddou
Ait Benhaddou is a ksar (fortified village) in southern Morocco. The ksar was built in the 11th century and is best preserved in Morocco. It’s located on a hilltop and surrounded by old city walls, making it easy to imagine what life was like back then.
You can take tours through the historic site or simply wander around on your own–either way, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views from atop this ancient hilltop location that overlooks miles of the desert landscape below!
Fez Medina
Fez Medina is a walled city that was once the capital of Morocco. It’s one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it an ideal place to visit when traveling to Morocco. The city was founded by Idris I (the first king) in 789 AD, making it one of the oldest existing imperial cities in history!
Ouarzazate Film Studios
The Ouarzazate Film Studios are a great place to visit if you’re interested in seeing where Hollywood films were shot. The Atlas Mountains provide the backdrop for many of these movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.
The studios are located in southern Morocco, close to Marrakech (you could even make it in one day). They’ve been used since 1962 by film crews and directors who wanted their work to look like it was filmed somewhere exotic but easy to access–and Morocco certainly fits that bill!
Morocco is an exotic and beautiful country.
Morocco is an exotic and beautiful country. It’s a country in North Africa with a rich history and diverse population. Morocco also has a diverse landscape, with many natural resources you can explore while visiting.
Limitless Nomad is making it easier than ever for westerners to visit Morocco. You can take a tour or sign up for a homestay, depending on what you want to get out of the experience. Either way, you’re guaranteed to have an authentic Moroccan experience and see the sights in comfort—which is more than you could expect from most tours in this part of the world.
