Los Cabos Expects This Record-Breaking Number Of Visitors By The End Of 2023

From January to October 2023, there were 3.2 million visitors to Los Cabos. It is expected to close the year with more than 4 million passengers, half a million more than last year. That is, more than 13% compared to 2022, said Rodrigo Esponda

The director of FITURCA Los Cabos reported that 2022 closed with the arrival of 3.4 million passengers by air, thanks to the tourism promotion measures developed to attract more visitors.

He explained that on this occasion, the strategy focused on promoting the development of emerging markets with the aim of diversifying the flow of visitors in the medium term.

The increase was prompted by a 38.9% growth in the Colombian market, 51% in the Japanese market, and 33.8% in the German market. These statistics have played a role in Los Cabos registering over 3.2 million passengers from January to October, marking an 11.5% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2022.

He also commented that, as part of the agenda of Los Cabos VIP Summit event, the Advisory Board session was held with the participation of 69 business partners. They were informed about the actions carried out in 2023 and the strategy for 2024, which will make it possible to strengthen Los Cabos’ presence in the most prominent markets.

In addition, he pointed out that an event dedicated to social responsibility was promoted in support of Corazón de Niño Foundation. An organization dedicated to supporting children and adolescents suffering from congenital heart disease in Baja California Sur.

He added that during the seventeenth edition of Los Cabos VIP Summit 2023, 1,600 business meetings were recorded with the most important representatives of national and international airlines, travel agencies, tour operators and hotel companies to diversify the presence of visitors from new markets.

The event, which took place from November 13 to 16, brought together 69 tourism business partners from the main source markets (United States, Canada and Mexico) and seven from emerging markets (Australia, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, France, Japan and the United Kingdom) that have seen significant growth in travel flows to Los Cabos, said the director general of the Tourism Trust.
