The Israeli-Palestinian conflict was addressed Thursday by the Greek government’s National Security Council (KYSEA).

“All aspects of the crisis in the region were discussed, with an emphasis on security, internal and external. The Greek authorities are always on alert. The policy of guarding the land and sea borders continues unabated,” said a government statement.

Another topic covered at the conference was the repatriation of Greek nationals, which is being coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in Athens is still listed as one of the four European destinations for evacuation flights from Israel.

It is important to remember that Greece is located over 2,809.0 kilometers (1745.43 miles) away from Israel. This great distance serves as a defense between Greece and the immediate effects of the conflict.

  • Exercise increased caution for pickpocketing incidents, particularly in major cities.
  • Be vigilant for potential pickpockets when using public transportation. It’s advisable to keep a close watch on your valuables while waiting at locations such as airports, cruise terminals, major bus and train stations, and the port of Piraeus.
