A dam on the Little River forms Fontana Lake along the park’s southern border. This is a quaint, relaxed place where you can hop on a kayak and paddle away all day long. It is also a popular place for paddle boarders, anglers, and those who love canoeing.
The northern side of the lake even has a few spaces where you get to go camping.
Note: There are over 1,500 black bears in the park grounds and over 17,000 other species have been recorded. So keep your eyes open and don’t make too much noise. You might be able to catch a few animals hiding among the trees.
