Broome, WA: Amazing Things to Do and See

Introduction

A visit to Broome is a must for anyone who is looking for an authentic and unique experience in Australia. This small town has so much to offer, with beautiful beaches, stunning landscapes, and historic sites. So if you’re planning on visiting Broome soon, here are some amazing things to do while you’re there!

The Horizontal Falls

Located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, the Horizontal Falls are an easy drive from Broome. If you’re flying into or out of Broome International Airport and want to see the falls during your stopover, it takes about 30 minutes to get there by car. To take advantage of your time in this scenic region, try traveling before 5:00 AM or after 8:00 PM so that you can avoid traffic on the highway and beat all of the crowds at the falls.

The hike down to see these natural wonders is short but steep—about 15 minutes each way—but well worth it! Once you reach them, you’ll find yourself standing next to a massive rock wall where water cascades over its edge into a large pool below (hence “horizontal”). You can swim here if you’d like; some visitors even go cliff diving into deeper waters below! The area also has good camping spots if you want to stay overnight nearby; just be sure not to camp anywhere near tribal lands because they could get upset if they feel as though this sacred land is being disturbed by outsiders who don’t respect their ways

Broome Historical Museum

The Broome Historical Museum is a great place to learn about the history of Broome, with exhibits dedicated to pearl diving, mining, and other industries. There’s also a cafe and gift shop on site. The museum is open every day except Christmas Day.

Experience breathtaking landscapes with a scenic flight

If you cannot get enough of the Kimberley region, then a scenic flights Broome WA is the perfect way to experience this beautiful part of Australia. You will be able to see breathtaking landscapes and stunning views that would otherwise be missed.

Traveling in a small aircraft over Cable Beach gives you an amazing view of the ocean and coastline below. You’ll also see The Horizontal Falls, which are one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Australia.

You’ll also fly over Purnululu National Park and Bungle Bungles, which are known for their beauty but can only be truly appreciated from above. The King Leopold Ranges will also reveal themselves on your flight as well as El Questro Station – a cattle station that has been operating since 1897!

Malcolm Douglas Wilderness Park

Located just 20 minutes from Broome, the Malcolm Douglas Wilderness Park is one of the best areas in WA to get an up-close look at nature. The park’s namesake was a notable Australian naturalist and explorer who spent much of his time exploring Western Australia. When he wasn’t out traveling, he would stay at his house here where he kept a culture collection that included over 3,000 plants from all over North America and Asia.

One of the most popular things to do in this area is go hiking on one of its many trails. You can find everything from easy paths suitable for families with small children to more difficult trails that require advanced skills (and possibly some assistance). There are also plenty of areas where you can relax and enjoy the scenery without having to exert yourself too much or do any strenuous activities at all!

Another great thing about Malcolm Douglas Wilderness Park is that there are many different activities available for everyone regardless of age or skill level. For example: if someone doesn’t want to hike but wants something active instead then they could rent bicycles from kiosks located throughout the parking area so they can ride around on those instead; alternatively, some people might prefer kayaking down rivers instead! There’s even horseback riding available as well if anyone wants some extra exercise while spending time outdoors – just make sure not to forget any sunscreen because it can be very hot outside during summer months (which occur between December through February).”

If you’re after some snorkeling action instead, head over to The Cutaway section of the reef where you’ll find lots of colorful fish to spot!

Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tour

There is a lot of history to be learned at the Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tour. The tour takes visitors through the history of pearl farming, which began in Broome when a Japanese diver named Tama arrived in July 1911 and found oysters on the seabed. He began to teach locals how to dive and harvest pearls, but they didn’t start harvesting them until 1938. You can visit the Museum and Visitor Centre on the farm where there are displays about how pearl diving was done in those days and learn about what life was like for divers back then.

The farm itself has hundreds of acres under cultivation with thousands of bivalves being raised on ropes suspended from rafts anchored offshore from Willie Creek Beach (hence its name). You can go out onto these rafts where you get up close and personal with large clamshells that are still alive inside their shells but have had holes cut into them so that tourists can see inside their insides! It’s even possible here for those who want it (and have time) to take part in actual diving lessons; however, once again this does require booking so contact us today if interested!

Gantheaume Point

Located just south of Broome, Gantheaume Point is a popular spot for fishing and birdwatching. The point is also home to the Cape Leveque Marine Park and offers access to some of Australia’s best snorkeling and diving spots. There are several walking trails in the area, including a 5km circuit that leads through mangroves, grasslands, and coastal heathlands. Look for sport shoes at sports shoes in Australia.
