Joe Buck drops a hilarious one-liner during Thursday's uneventful Dolphins-Ravens game

The latest Thursday Night Football game involved the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens. In theory, Lamar Jackson’s team should have rolled over the lowly Dolphins with ease, especially after a thrilling overtime victory against the Minnesota Vikings.

However, that wasn’t the case as the Dolphins got just the third win of the year in a dud of a game. After the first half, legendary announcer Joe Buck dropped a hilarious comment that showed the state of the first two quarters.

The Dolphins and Ravens sputtered to start the game on Thursday night

The Dolphins led the Ravens at the half by a score of 6-3. Yes, that is all.

The high-octane offense captained by Jackson only managed a field goal in the first 30 minutes of game action. The Dolphins took the lead on a field goal thanks to a massive breakdown by the Baltimore secondary.

Other than that, it was a snoozefest in yet another bizarre Thursday night edition of NFL primetime. One of the best teams in the AFC could not get anything going on offense, and the Jacoby Brissett-led Dolphins once again showed how much they need Tua Tagovailoa behind center.

Joe Buck’s perfect comment captured the theme of the evening after a bizarre first half

At the end of the first half, Buck’s one-liner suddenly went viral.

“The Marlins lead the Orioles … No. The Dolphins lead the Ravens, 6-3.”

Now, was Buck joking? He must have been. After all, he is a professional and one of the best in the industry.

After the hilarious anecdote, Buck’s clip went viral with people thinking he was legitimately confused. Perhaps he was confused, or maybe he misses baseball that much after the World Series ended.

Either way, it was a perfect description of a disappointing first half of football at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Ravens were expected to wipe the floor with the Dolphins, and Jackson’s Miami return was talked about the entire week.

Instead, it was the Dolphins who crawled to a 6-3 lead as this game began to look eerily similar to the Buffalo Bills 9-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars the week prior in the Josh Allen Bowl.

The 2nd half got better but the Dolphins still upset the Ravens

Well, the last two quarters of football were better — although that isn’t saying very much. Tagovailoa came in and played well, causing even more confusion and turmoil around Dolphins head coach Brian Flores, who recently backed his quarterback while the Deshaun Watson rumors swirled.

It was ugly, but Jackson and the Ravens got in the endzone, finally, with just over four minutes left on a strange play where the Miami defender appeared to stop altogether. After that, the Dolphins put it away courtesy of another blown Ravens coverage, this time letting Albert Wilson slip through and rattle off a 64-yard catch-and-run.

Tagovailoa’s touchdown put the score at 22-10, and the Dolphins — yes, the previously 2-7 Dolphins — upset the Ravens on Thursday night. It made no sense, but then again, not much has made sense during the NFL season, especially as of late.

Dolphins fans will surely remember this game, but the hilarious call by Buck will be played for quite some time.
