Dak Prescott is "Pissed Off" After Cowboys Showing Offfensive Against the Chiefs

The Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs had high hopes of the game of the week. Unfortunately, neither offense showed up in what was primed to be an offensive outburst.

Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes both struggled to score points, and the Chiefs walked away with a bizarre 19-9 victory on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

After the game, Prescott got honest about his struggles and voiced his frustration.

Dak Prescott vs. Patrick Mahomes showdown turned into a defensive battle

With two of the best quarterbacks in the game, this one looked to be a shootout. But, think again.

As if the 2021 NFL season couldn’t get weirder, this game ended with just two touchdowns and neither one courtesy of Mahomes or Prescott.

The Cowboys didn’t score a touchdown all game, instead relying on Greg Zuerlein to account for all nine points. The Chiefs scored on a Clyde Edwards-Helaire run and a Travis Kelce rushing touchdown (yes, really).

Surprisingly, both defenses showed up. The Chiefs intercepted Prescott twice and limited the rushing attack to just 82 yards. Flip the script, and the Cowboys defense held Mahomes to 260 yards and no scores, keeping both Kelce and Tyreek Hill under 100 yards.

Nonetheless, Prescott wasn’t at all pleased with his performance as the offense hit a wall.

The Cowboys quarterback is not at all happy after the frustrating loss to the Chiefs

Prescott has every right to be frustrated. Zero touchdowns are not a good sign, especially after the Cowboys scored 43 points the week prior against that Atlanta Falcons.

After the disappointing performance, Prescott dropped his true feelings (h/t Jon Machota of The Athletic).

“Never discouraged, but pissed off, yeah sure. I’m pissed when I don’t play well or the team doesn’t play well, or the offense doesn’t play well for the fact of tonight, in general, especially when you have the chance to come out and play against a team that has been in the Super Bowl the last two years and prove to ourselves and one another what we’re capable of.”

Dak Prescott after poor outing vs. the Chiefs

It was a game to forget, plain and simple. None of the Dallas pass-catchers topped 100 yards, and the absence of Amari Cooper proved to be a big one.

Even with the subpar outing and the disappointment, Prescott is optimistic, even with the short week as the Cowboys prepare to play on Thanksgiving.

The turnaround will be short for Dallas and hopefully they can get back on the right foot against the Las Vegas Raiders on Turkey Day.

The Cowboys road ahead looks bright despite the blemish against the Chiefs

There is a silver lining here for the Cowboys, believe it or not.

For starters, they have a comfortable lead in the poor NFC East. More than that, the remaining schedule should be relatively easy.

After a Thanksgiving duel with the Raiders, they face the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football a week later. The Cowboys face Washington twice, the New York Giants, and then finish off with the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles.

Except for the Cardinals game, the Cowboys should be favored in the rest of them and have a clear-cut path to the NFC East title and perhaps a top seed in the conference.

While the performance against the Chiefs was discouraging, there are better days ahead for the Cowboys, and everybody — including Prescott — knows that.
