Now and then, my husband and I take some time for ourselves and plan a romantic getaway. This time we wanted to visit Philadelphia, and we did! There are so many options to stay at right now, but we wanted something more unique, with history. That’s after a lot of research, we decided to stay at Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District.
Before starting to plan out our quick romantic getaway to Philadelphia I knew two things:
1. I wanted to stay in the Historic District, also known as the Old City of Philly
2. To be within walking distance to everything since we were arriving by bus from New York to Philadelphia
Once I had these non-negotiable in place, I was able to really narrow my search in terms of hotels, restaurants and attractions.
First step – finding the best located hotel – Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District.

Why Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District Hotel was the Top Choice?
There are lots of hotels in this part of Philly, I won’t deny that. So here are the reasons I decided on Wyndham:
1. Newness – I’ve never stayed at a Wyndham hotel and after a lot of research, with their consistent high review rankings, it made it that much more appealing
2. Location – It is literally around the corner from all the cool, albeit, touristy and historical landmarks – Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, etc…
It’s a few blocks from Penn’s Landing. This is the waterfront of Philadelphia with lots of shops and cafés.
South Street, the hipster neighborhood, which was about a 10-block walk, but turned out to be one of the most beautiful walks we’ve taken due to the historic buildings.
One thing about Philly, is you literally feel as though you are walking through the revolutionary period.
3. Affordability – for being a high-end hotel, the prices were right on.

4. Amenities – My husband and I like to hit the gyms at different hotels, and their gym was open 24 hours, and usually was empty with great machines.
Pool – I’m not a big pool user, however, their pool was located on the 8th floor, with great views. Just hanging out up there was fun.
5. Comfortability – we had the Deluxe King overlooking the historic district
6. Room service – I’m sure this is at all hotels, but it’s so much fun.
