Which coast to settle on?
Ibiza is quite small, but it’s not a good idea to make the assumption that it’s so small you needn’t consider which part you’re going to.
Ibiza Town
Ibiza town is the center – this is where the buzzing nightlife is, among many incredible restaurants, shopping, and amenities. Ibiza town is located southwest of the island and has its own port.
However, it’s not the only port on the island.
Sant Antoni de Portmany
Sant Antoni de Portmany is a port town located on the other side of the island, eastwards. This is a fairly lively place too (due to being a popular port), and also has great nightlife. In fact, it’s home to Eden and Ibiza Rocks, so you can have an equally fun time here. An Ibiza boat party in the area would be a perfect outing if you want to see and experience the beautiful water surrounding the island.
Santa Eulalia del Río
Head north from Ibiza town to the west of the island and you will find Santa Eulalia del Río. This is a very quiet, laid-back resort area where families come for a great beach – but is still only 20 km from Ibiza’s airport. There are some even quieter villages than this too if you head further north.
Playa d’en Bossa
Playa d’en Bossa is good in between. It’s very close to Ibiza town – close enough to visit for the evening. But here you will find laid-back lounging with great bars and a mixed atmosphere. The north of this area has all-day music and cocktail bars, whilst the south has more families and quiet areas.
Best Accommodation to Stay at
When visiting Ibiza, there’s a lot to choose from when it comes to accommodation. Because it’s so popular with tourists, many of whom are affluent, there’s a great selection of hotels, villas, and apartments.
A good option for villas is Eivillas.com, which has no commission and a wide selection of mid-to-high-range villas. So, there’s a lot of luxury to choose from, but when pooling together money from multiple people – friends and family – a large villa can become quite economical.
Otherwise, there are a lot of hotels to choose from. These can be ideal for very short stays (i.e. a weekend) and good for solo travelers and couples on a budget.
Best Time to Visit Ibiza
October is coming and with it, one of the best seasons to visit Ibiza. It’s the end of the summer, when the climate is not too hot, clubs are still open and beaches are starting to become empty from the young crowds.
The temperatures in Ibiza in October will be just perfect for enjoying a trip along the city at any time of the day. It’ll be between 23°C (74°F) during the day and 16°C (61°F) at night. This means it won’t be too hot to go to the beach during the day or too cold to visit some of the clubs at night.
It is still time to party for young people, but it is also a quieter time when you can come with the family to explore the nearby villages and beaches.

Visit a Beach
Besides the world-class nightclubs, there’s a lot to see in Ibiza. Unsurprisingly, there are a lot of stunning beaches around, like Benirrás, but you’re always within arms reach of a great one.
Cala Comte really shows off the nature in Ibiza too, which is a rocky coastline (there is a small beach there) that has shallow waters and can be a great way to catch the sunset.
But it’s not all about partying and lying on a beach, there are great tours being offered for adventurous souls. Water sports like jet skiing are very popular. If on the other hand, you prefer something that doesn’t involve water, how about a biking adventure in the nearby hills or visiting a museum?
Visit a Museum
What goes a little more unappreciated is the culture in Ibiza, such as the Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art, which hosts some world-famous artists, including Antoni Marí Ribas who was born on the island.
Another interesting museum to visit is the Necropolis del Puig des Molins, it’s not only a museum but an archaeological site where you’ll be able to learn more about the Phoenician necropolis and the things found on the tombs.
Enjoy the Landmark
Ibiza is home to a wide range of landmarks like Puig des Molins necropolis, which is the ruins of a 7th-century BCE Phoenician settlement site. Or the Catedral de Santa Maria de la Neu de Vila d’Eivissa, which is the main church of the island with exquisite architecture worth checking out.

The only thing is that you have to arrive early if you are looking for the very best possible bargains.

Es Vedrà
The power that this rock formation has is undeniable, and mystery surrounds it. According to many locals, this is the Earth’s most magnetic point and planes simply cannot fly above it. Es Vedrà is said to have healing properties, but even if you do not believe in that, a picnic in the area is great. You can also enjoy a child-friendly beach nearby and really tasty seafood at affordable prices.
Casita Verde
Casita Verde is open on Sundays from 2 PM and is a fascinating Eco-education experiential center dedicated to permaculture technique application and study. The entrance fee is only 10 EUR and the children can learn a lot about free energy, green home-building techniques, and sustainability.
Many enjoy the tour and what is pretty rare is having lunch served there from 2 to 4 PM. Basically, the tour is a free extra if you buy a 10 EUR plate of organic, local vegetarian dishes. Aloe vera juice is extra but you may want to take a bottle with you for your future adventures.
Las Dalias
This is the first hippie market in Ibiza and is now a cool hangout spot close to San Carlos. Many tourists choose to take advantage of the cheap Menu Del Dia offers 3 courses, bread, aioli, and a drink. These menus vary every day with different options ranging from local delicacies to special vegetarian options. This daily menu is only available from Monday to Friday, but on Saturdays, you can replace that with cake and coffee as the market opens its doors selling artisanal products, handmade crafts, and other treats.
