Comprised of 30 territories, the Caribbean is made up of more than 700 islands, reefs and cays and remains a tourism hotspot for Americans with so many options to choose from.
Accounting for more than 60% of visitors, Grenada is becoming an ever-growing popular destination for Americans. Known for its amazing beaches, majestic waterfalls, world-class cocoa and the world’s first underwater sculpture park, the proximity of the island is also a major draw for Americans.

This past November, the small island saw over 14,000 visitors come, making it the highest month of tourists on record.
Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, stated that they, “want to take advantage of our safe environment, numerous community initiatives an who want to get out and about,” and keep Grenada top of mind for those looking for a Caribbean vacation.
With an average of 82 Fahrenheit, the oval-shaped island makes it easy to drive around. In fact, you can drive around the whole island in just under six hours.
Culture is abundant on the island as it has a mixture of Amerindian, French and English customs which can see through its cuisine and aromatic spices.
Some of the best things to do on the island of Grenada include:
- Swim at a beach: the island as over 45 white sand beaches to choose from with clear waters and great views
- Underwater sculpture: snorkel or scuba dive at the world’s first underwater sculpture park which contains 75 sculptures
- Waterfalls: in the rainforests, search for the Seven Sisters waterfall or Mount Carmel Falls
- Grenada’s agriculture: head over to Belmont Estate for its tree-to-bar craft chocolate experience
- Check out spice island: explore the abundant cuisine offering authentic Caribbean food
