Things to Do on Peanut Island, just off Palm Beach

The tiny, manmade Peanut Island is located off of the coast of Palm Beach in South Florida. It’s a great place for spending the day and relaxing. There are several activities being offered on the Island, but there are more fun activities and adventures to be had other than beach bumming.

Are you curious to get some information about them?

Palm Beach Maritime Museum – This museum in Palm Beach is a nonprofit organization that tries to teach people about the marine history and the modern marine environment. They do this, hoping that by learning about marine life people will respect these habitats.

On Peanut Island they manage the Kennedy Bunker & Coast Guard Station. You can go into the historic bunker and learn about the coast guard station on a guided tour for a fee of $12. This is a great learning experience you can’t miss!

Blue Water Powerboat Rental – This option is for all the adventurers out there! These guys rent jet skis, CraighCats (a bit larger high speed water vehicles for two passengers) and take on private boat tours where you get the option of snorkeling in the crystal clear water around the island. If you love water sports you must definitely rent one of these. You can use these in the intracoastal waterways around Peanut Island.

Renting jet skis and visiting two historic places.

So if you are in the South Florida area give this island a chance, you won’t be disappointed!
