Fun Fact about me, the Travel Experta – over 25 years ago I was semi-pro downhill skier. Not so fun fact about me – it’s been almost that long since I’ve been on skis.
When we arrived to Stowe Mountain Lodge I felt as though I was starting from the beginning. And bringing my family, who are total newbies (so much so that my kids have never even seen snow before) I felt I’d jump on the bang wagon with them and instead of going for the skis, I’d try my hand at snowboarding.

Stowe offers great classes for adults and kids. So my husband and I signed up for a lesson together for snowboarding.
The class was one hour of semi private, it could be private, but I actually preferred to do it with my hubby, made it that much more fun for us both.
This was his first time ever on any snow apparatus and my first time ever on a snowboard.
As fun as the lesson was, and being a skier for more than a quarter of a century of my life, I was ready to get back on the skis.
Stowe rental’s allows you to change your mind for a tiny fee, so if you are like me and want to give both a try, I really recommend doing so.
The Adventure Center at Stowe is home to their world-class children’s Ski and Ride School. This building is a totally new addition, has the state of the art, latest and greatest equipment for kids for snowboarding and skiing.
My kids’ equipment was totally new. Seriously, the staff had to take off the price tags for some of the equipment.
This is where all the kids adventure camps and lessons start as well.

Snowboarding and Ski Classes for Kids Offered at Stowe Ski Resort
NOTE: This might be my observation, or simply good luck, but the programs are offered for kids for both snowboarding and skiing. The snowboarding classes were tiny. My kids had almost private lessons. Unlike the skiing classes which had more kids.
Still super small classes, no more than five kids to each instructor, but I loved the personal and individual attention my kids got for their snowboarding classes.

Book your room at Stowe Mountain Lodge
We took the kids out early from their classes to enjoy slope time with them. Since my husband and kids were still total newbies, we enjoyed the easy lift for beginners.
Andddd…..
What do you do after a full day of snowboarding?
Play in the snow, of course!
But that’s not all. Stowe has this insanely awesome pool that is outdoors. During our stay the temperatures hit to -20 Fahrenheit – NO JOKE.
But this didn’t stop my kids. You enter the book, which is heated up to 80 degrees, inside and then go through the plastic curtains to enjoy numbing weather while soaking in the pool.
I was too chicken to give it a go, but my kids couldn’t get enough of it.
