Did you know that brunch can be one of the most interesting meals offered by restaurants? Breakfast is probably one of the most favorite meals and when it is infused with lunch this gives the chef complete freedom to create meals that you wouldn’t normally have. And when this takes place in restaurants like Oceans 234 in Deerfield, which are already making incredible gastronomical dishes, you can bet you will be surprised!
And surprised is exactly what we were.
Oceans 234 Brunch Review
Deerfield Beach Restaurants – Let Your Mind Go Wild and Your Palate Enjoy It
Brunch is one of my favorite meals by far. Why? For many reasons:
1. My kids can eat breakfast all day long – so I know they will always find something on the menu
2. Brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch – allowing us to order both without feeling like it is a weird thing
3. You can drink alcohol without seeming it is too early or inappropriate
4. It is a great way to spend a Sunday morning/afternoon
We have visited Deerfield Beach once before for dinner and by the time we left it was dark out, and we didn’t get to enjoy the town, which is a fun surf community with great shops. I really wanted to return during the day hours and a Sunday brunch hit the spot.
Oceans 234 is one of the only restaurants, on the beach, that is well known for its executive chef, Victor Franco. And simply reading all about them and speaking to my friends who have been there, I was extremely excited to arrive.
As we entered the restaurant the first thing we saw was a sushi bar. My ten year old likes to think of himself as a sushi enthusiast and was now extra happy for me dragging him out to another restaurant.
Even though there are tables inside, the main seating is in the back that overlooks the beach and pier and a perfect backdrop for our brunch.
And just as I predicted, the food was incredible. It was like an edible art gallery of some of the best food mixes ever.
Get Ready for Oceans 234 brunch
As always I want to know what the restaurant is known for, or what they feature as their signature dishes. After talking to the waitress and having help from Ashley, who is actually their Director of Marketing, and we were lucky enough to meet her while we were there, this is what they recommended.
Egg Croissant – we were let in easy to the fusions, plus how can you go to brunch and not have bacon and eggs?
Lobster Egg Benedict – Do I need to say more?
Chicken and Waffles with strawberries and cream – It sounds funky, but the flavors really do work well together.
Baby Spinach Salad with Brie – this was a great entry point into the actual lunch food. Light, flavorful and the brie really hit the spot.
Locally Caught Snapper – this was the finale dish and it was out of this world. I am NOT a fish lover but the way it was baked and breaded, with the homemade mashed red potatoes was a great way to finish off one of the best brunches I have ever had.

Information for Visiting Oceans 234 in Deerfield Beach, FL
These dishes were just the tip of the iceberg, the menu is so diverse and bursting with flavors, that next time I come back I’m going to try a bit of the other stuff that wasn’t brought out.
This place is also great for families. We were seated right by the boardwalk and the beach. So the kids were able to run around without me worrying that a car can knock them down or general safety measures. And beach air seems to make them more hungry which makes every mama happy.
