NYC Places to See

Manhattan skyline in the day

New York City is a true dream for all sorts of travelers. When I lived in NYC I was single, so I always thought of this city as non-kid-friendly. Now that I have two little men, I have returned numerous times to visit the city and am in complete awe how much there is to do for people of all ages.

Start with NYC street food.

Grand Central Station – even if you’re not taking a train anywhere, just visiting it and walking around, getting some food is so much fun.

Empire States Building – you have to visit this iconic landmark.

The view alone from the Empire States Building will blow your mind.

Times Square Anyone?

Family fun at Times Square

Make sure you bring plenty of cash to pay the tons of characters that are now earning (a descent) living from photos such as these.

The Met – museum lover or not, this place is great to either sit on their steps and even better to check it out on the inside.

The Intrepid – This is a great visit to the one time amazing ship.

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

Circle Line – This is a great orientation tour to find out about the city, get some sick skyline images. It is more of the ‘tourist’ but can be a cheesy, fun activity.

Museum of Natural History – no visit to the City is complete without see a dinosaur.

Downtown NYC has really been done up since 2001, and it’s so much fun exploring. My recommendation, rent a bike and go.

Wall Street!

Central Park – If you don’t visit this amazing park, you haven’t really visited NYC.

Brooklyn Bridge – If you can visit the bridge, it will be so worth it. You can walk along it, or ride your bike.

If you’re staying in NYC for a longer period than the average trip, and have rented an apartment to truly enjoy the city. I really recommend hiring a maid service to keep your place clean while exploring.
