Game-Changer For Bali: Railway Network Set To Revolutionize Travel Around The Island

The project to build Bali’s rail network has been planned for many years. Months have passed while developments have taken place in the background, and the plans have grown and changed over time.

However, there’s no doubt that the enormous project will transform the way tourists travel.

It has been announced that both overground and underground railway lines will be included in the multi-phase development project.

Since the original proposal for the project in 2011, James Clark from Future South East Asia has effectively tracked and recorded all small changes and developments.

For the first time, Clark has produced a concept map called Bali Railway that illustrates how all of the project ideas will come together when they are finished.

The Bali Railway Concept Map makes it much simpler to understand how the railway’s infrastructure will eventually transform how locals and visitors travel throughout Bali.

All of the suggested routes are shown on the map, including national and regional train lines as well as the South Bali Metropolitan Railway, which will eventually include beach trams and train lines.

This railway map is a concept map that provides the public with a visual representation of the ideas presented by officials, rather than an official government graphic.

There are plans to build a metro, light rail, and tram system as part of the South Bali Metropolitan Railway.

The plan is for an underground railway to connect Seminyak, a beach resort, with I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The route will terminate at Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak, then proceed to a point called Seminyak Junction. From there, it will continue to Kerobokan Kelod, Kerobokan, and Kerobokan Kaja, ultimately arriving at North Denpasar.

Just this train line alone may virtually instantly transform how millions of locals and visitors see the island.

Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak have long been known for traffic congestion among Bali enthusiasts. However, in recent times, it is the traffic jams around Canggu that have been gaining the notice of road users.

Long-term plans envisage the construction of a railroad line that would cross the rapidly growing vacation resort of Canggu and run from the district of Seminyak to Tanah Lot.
