Russell Wilson issues a bold warning to the NFL in an effort to save the Seahawks relationship: "Everybody Better Watch Out"

The Seattle Seahawks are trending in the wrong direction. If things continue to go this route, Russell Wilson‘s tenure in Seattle could be coming to an abrupt end. At a turning point in the season, the veteran quarterback is trying to galvanize the locker room ahead of its Monday Night Football tilt against the Washington Football Team.

Wilson had some strong words for the rest of the NFL teams on the Seahawks’ schedule.

The Seahawks are desperate for a win

The Seattle Seahawks are 0-2 since Russell Wilson returned to the field from a fractured finger. After embarrassing losses to the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals, Seattle is desperate for a win.

Pete Carroll’s squad is currently 3-7, placing it last in the NFC West. The Seahawks hold the second-worst record in the NFC, which is something not many saw coming.

Seattle notched victories over the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers in the first half of the 2021 season. However, they’ve struggled to maintain any level of consistency.

It’s not difficult to see why the Seahawks have a losing record, though. The defense has outperformed expectations. Teams move the ball well, but they’ve limited scoring opportunities. On the other side of the ball, the offense has been out of sync since Wilson’s returned to action.

Frustrations have mounted as of late, especially during the latest two-game losing streak. A win over the Washington Football Team could help turn the tide, as they would surprisingly still be in the playoff hunt.

Russell Wilson sends message to future opponents

Russell Wilson is oozing with positivity despite the Seattle Seahawks’ recent struggles. He knows the urgency of the situation, though.

The 7-time Pro Bowler joined The Rich Eisen Show to discuss the current state of the team and the outlook for the remainder of the 2021 season.

“It’s an opportunity, and it’s adversity,” said Wilson. “Adversity fades if you have the right mentality. Understand that it’s a process, and you try to still find ways to get better despite all the noise. You stay focused on the task and the mission. One game a week, one day at a time, one snap at a time.”

The Seahawks have seven games left on their schedule, so there’s a little time to try and turn this thing around. However, the window is small, with no room for error.

Wilson’s belief in his teammates is unwavering, even if the expectations aren’t very realistic.

“We’ve got seven games left,” he added. “If anybody can come back, we believe we can come back and win all seven. It’s just us catching our groove. If we can stay on course, we can do all things. When we catch fire, everybody better watch out.”

As the leader of the team, Russell Wilson’s optimism must be a welcomed sign, but it’s a long shot at this point.

Another loss could officially end Wilson’s time in Seattle

The future of the Seattle Seahawks franchise is uncertain for 2022 and beyond. However, it just feels like some major changes are coming.

Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll are in their 10th season together, but the 2021 season has been eerily different.

After a 12-4 season, which included an NFC West title, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback showed signs of wanting out of Seattle. With how the Seahawks are struggling now, it’s safe to assume that Wilson’s concerns could be growing even stronger.

As the losses pile up, it looks more and more like either Wilson or Carroll will be gone in 2022 (if not both).

The Monday Night Football matchup against Ron Rivera’s Washington Football Team will say a lot about the Seahawks and the team’s makeup.

A win over Washington will rejuvenate Seattle and its fan base, giving them something to cheer about. On the other hand, a loss could turn the struggling Seahawks into a dumpster fire.

One more loss could not only end Seattle’s season, but it could also mark the end of an era.

This franchise has enjoyed a great run with Pete Carroll at the helm and Russell Wilson under center. Still, all good things must come to an end.

Winning is the only thing that can stop the band from breaking up.
